Quite right, thm. Well spotted. The purpose was to show that my pot and kettle picture was justified and to point out to you the evidence that you required from me in support of my allegation.

But now you bring me on to another point, and which may in part answer Saf's post. You have shown that there are valid reasons to use the function and you have used it for one of those reasons.

Now ladies and gentlemen, good members of the jury, your Honour the judge, I propose the accuser, good member brother citizen thm, be thrown in the dungeon immediately for wasting the court's valuable time.

Firstly, brother thm accused other good members of a heinous crime when in fact he has admitted in front of the whole world and his dog that he has done the self same thing himself.

Secondly, brother thm further went on to claim that the software function that he so maligned serves no purpose whatsoever! However, as can be seen from his post of 08.55 today, he went on to give a jolly good reason for using it himself.

Finally, brother thm stated that only misanthropes would find any benefit in using the aforementioned software. Well, well, well. It's a sad day for the Grumpy community. Brother member good citizen thm has now admitted to being a misanthrope himself. I hope it's not infectious.

Your Honour, please do not be too harsh on our good brother member thm. There may well be mitigating circumstances that have caused this wayward behaviour by our highly respected member of the online community. I fear banishing him to another forum would be too severe a penalty. The cellar would seem a more comfortable place and I'm sure he would receive many visitors.

Well well well good member Alfie

I see you have the art of turning something around to perfection these days, though i am sure you are aware the cyber community has got you numbered, regarding banishing a member to another forum, we obivously could not do that to you, as in the cyber polce records you have been turfed out of every community you have been involved in, you were only invited here by admin, as a guard against trolls.

I would now like to also propose the online viewing function to be deleted and then good member voyour Alfie would have to do some more posting, as he would have nothing left to do with himself, i did suggest before to throw you in the cellar i now believe the cellar to be to good for you, just deleting the above mentioned functions would crush you.  :D

Kyzlor,

It is indeed banter as thm said. thm and I get on very well and we are just entertaining ourselves. If others find it entertaining then all the better. If they don't, then so be it. Some may misunderstand it as sniping, but I imagine they are more likely to be those members who don't spend as much time reading all the posts on the forum or haven't noticed that there are friendships between members.

I try to include smilies at some point in the banter to indicate that it is said in jest, in fun or without malice. I notice that thm does the same.

You are right in that with all that is going on in the world our banter is unimportant. But so is my choice of toothpaste. I don't think that we should stop doing things just because they are unimportant. :)

Regards
Alfie

I think thm had his tongue in his cheek while posting. Several members use the function, for whatever reason, including the good member himself. :D

There is a message in good members posting there, (do not take away this function on me saf, it entertains me) if i was a shrink, i would possibly come to the conclusion, that there is a possiblity that the good member maybe entering the world of misanthropes, very sad but true.

I wasn't speaking of the banter in this thread. I was talking about some of the tirades that have been tossed about in other places, many regarding fellow good members.

By the way, I agree misantropy is a fine word, but me thinks some good members here may over use it. I also wonder if there is an exact list of qualifications to be deemed a misanthrope.

Kyzlor i would like to answer your question but seen as Good member Alfie happens to be the CEO of the guild i have no authorisation to divulge such info over to you good member Alfie, and by the way you told me, the guild would pay all costs for my appointments, how you got that camera in there is beyond me i had the room sweeped before i uttered a word to the shrink.

Admin may i also suggest that you change the seating arrangements in on line viewing as its getting a bit crowded in there, some other well respected member has joined good member Alfie in there now.
