Nice plot of land for sale in Nikom, Ampreur Phimai.


Location:
about 10 km from the center of Phimai
Nikom is the second big village on the road from Phimai to Hindat.

The land is situated about 1500 meter from a beautiful big lake on a small hill.
This hill was in the past cultivated with vineyards.
Because the plot is on a hill, there was never flooding in the past!!!!!

Have been investigating this, out of interest really, and might as well post what I found.

We all see all these house adverts on the side of the road whilst traveling around and I was curious to see what the real deal was.

OK, let's make it easy, basic 3 bedroom bungalow on any of the numerous estates around everywhere, looks like about 1.8 million baht is the going rate for one on about 60-65 ...

Maybe good to have a thread on the pros and cons about what the deal with is regarding building on the wife's land or buying in an estate like Homeland/Rungnirun/Home garden/Tropical Paradise or whatever.

Guess building on the wife's land then the land is for free and land prices are now getting expensive in Korat (depends where you are but in general then yes).

I get bothered about security with building on the wife's land, ...

As it has now started to rain a lot then this is a relevant question. We all remember the flooding last year, especially on the eastern/northeastern side of town. From what I hear that side of Korat was fashionable and expensive to buy a place/land in all those plush estates that now turn out to have been built on low-lying land. From time to time, foreigners ask on community forums about the possibility of getting mortgages to buy condominiums here. The simple answer seems to be that most foreigners wouldn't get one. The lesson to be learned from what follows is that you should rent only through an established and reputable letting agent who confirms that his business charges only a rent agreed with the landlord from whom it takes a commission.

It's probably not a surprise to learn that some private individuals attempt to let properties for a landlord and charge a rent higher than the landlord receives. You may not see much harm in that ...
