Crackdown On Foreign Criminals

We are seeing more signs of Thailand fulfilling it's promise to trace foreigners wanted abroad or who should not be here because of breaches of the Immigration Act.

Tough On Crime

Some while ago now, the government of the day set up a new police investigation unit in Chonburi to catch up with foreigners who shouldn't be here. The present government seems to be toughening up on crime more generally than that. Arrests for drug possession and prostitution have become more numerous, for example.

British Passport Renewal

I received my new British passport today. Before I applied for it I was told several rather different version of the current procedure so I'm using my experience of the procedure to explain just what you need to do under the rules.

First, go to the appropriate section the the Directgov website:

Note that British passport applications go to Hong Kong but the passports are issued ...
