Hitler - It's Not Over yet

Comment has been made in the recent past about students parading in neo-Nazi uniforms. Some excused them on the assumption that they were ignorant or didn't care what they wore.

Yesterday, I saw these thing in a window in Save One market in Korat. I've never seen anything like them before and Thailand would have been one of the last places I would have expected to see them.

Is this PC Gone Wild?

I'm watching the Mayweather fight on TV this morning. The guys in the first match wore the same color trunks. The commentator described 5 or 6 minor differences that the audience could use to distinguish them such as different trim and promos, the color of their gloves, hairdos, etc, as well as trying mostly unsuccessfully to note who was on the right/left of the screen. One of these guys was a black, African American, whatever, ...

Car Park Attendants

I've got to bring this up as it sometimes borders on the ridiculous.

What the hell is it about a whistle and a company uniform that turns these guys into self-perceived captains of the car park?

If you ask me, then I consider them as making the job of parking twice as difficult as it should be when some elder statesman of the local village is blowing his whistle for all he's worth to convince ...

The problem with free speech in Thailand

This is an interesting article on why Thais have a problem with productive debate or disagreement and seems to usually end up with smear campaigns, unsubstantiated rumour and polarized hatred on either side. True, this is a heated issue but shows the faults up quite well. However, the very fact that there is any debate tolerated on such a subject is a sign of progression and modernisation in itself as even 10 years ago it ...

Strategries for life in Thailand

Was thinking about this the other day and was wondering what the opinion on the different ones are.

What I mean is, nowadays you see everyone from guys in their 20s to the classic 70+ brigade, all trying to carve out a life in the present or for the future, whether it be starting a family or enjoying your retirement, or whatever.

You are even starting to see western women living here that are under ...

Cool Season Over Now?

Despite it being coolish at night still, the days are getting hot again and today was back to same old usual temperature and has been warmer in the daytime for the past week.

I reckon it (cool season) could be over now, a bit early but also had that surprise rain yesterday too. Perhaps we should start a weather thread in Korat Saf?
